One way trip Devlog #1
One Way Trip » Devlog
October 1st - December 14th.
- Overview: Since the project's inception until now, my focus has been on creating a custom character controller for the game that I can modify and document. I experimented with various controllers from the Unity Asset Store, but none met my expectations, and I couldn't afford the paid ones. So, during the first month, I worked on building a modular character controller. Additionally, I worked on the game's storyline, level design, and the modeling of various elements. Some assets were reused from previous projects, which helped lighten the workload.
- Achievements:
- Developed a decent character controller.
- Completed the game's storyline.
- Designed the levels for the game.
- Implemented functionality for various environmental interactions.
- Created an in-game interaction interface.
- Implemented an event manager for controlling in-game events.
- Defined the visual style of the game.
- Identified and addressed numerous bugs in different areas.
- Learnings:
- Explored the use of scriptables.
- Improved programming skills, although still limited.
- Strengthened knowledge of using trimsheets.
- Upcoming Tasks: To complete the final phase of the game, I need to:
- Integrate puzzles.
- Develop cinematic sequences.
- Polish the game, which is expected to take approximately a month of work.
